Today at SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology) was the day they counted the ballots for the student council. I got onto the council with highest vote from my department. Just thought I’d celebrate through my blog. I hope I can use this position to make life easier for students in Alberta.

Just a heads up for everyone who reads my blog, I will be leaving for vacation on Tuesday night. I will be going back to my hometown of Penticton to soak up the sun with my girlfriend, Kathleen. Hopefully I don’t run into Stockwell Day, he scares me for a guy whose suppose to be looking out for public safety. (Did I ever tell you the time that I hit Stockwell Day with a spit ball in the forehead at a school assembly? That’s for another post if I didn’t.) I hope everyone has an awesome week! I know I will be enjoying it as I will be going back to school on August 28th! It’s already been a year since I was last there, hopefully I didn’t forget how to learn.
Anyways, Ciao!

So I got my root canal done. Really, it wasn’t painful at all… I think I want my money back. Just every once in a while during the procedure I’d get kind of a shock, when they hit a nerve. And after the procedure was done, I didn’t feel anything so I thought for sure I’d pay for it in pain once the freezing went away. But nope, feels really good now, except for where I put my tongue up on the abscess whey drained, it feels weird.
Anyways, during the procedure the dentist was using these small tiny metal filings. And he started to get rough with it and I guess he got a little bit to rough. It broke off in my
tooth. Now the dentist never told me during the procedure what happened, he waited till after. But after hearing “Oh crap!†, I just assumed, and I was right. They spent the next 30-40 minutes trying to get the file out, but he wasn’t having any luck. So they leave it in and complete the operation and tell me afterwards. Supposedly it should be ok as it was sterilized and the tooth was filled with stainless steel and rubber, so it would just be a different consistency of metal.
And at the end of the appointment, the entire back of my shirt was soaking wet from sweat.
Really though, I was disappointed in the lack of pain.

Well let’s start at the beginning. Today at work was our first day on the phones (our training group.) Our trainer told us that he pulled some strings and that we will be getting our first raise in two weeks!
The company I work for does a raise based on evaluations and shows us clearly what our raises will be. So every three month our wage can change. If you get 100% on your evaluation (Which isn’t too hard) you will get the top wage. But if in the next three months you get 99% on your evaluations, your wage will go down. So you have to keep on working hard. Normally they require us to work half of the three month period… but we got lucky!
That means that in two weeks I could be making $5.18 more per hour! So I’m getting quite pumped for that, studying the procedure manual tonight.
Also, I got some good news from SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology) I knew that they would start accepting students on March 1st, but I hadn’t received anything from them and I was starting to get nervous, so I called up customer service. I guess they just sent out an acceptance letter yesterday! They had only accepted 20 out of 25 spots, and 17 people were on a wait list, and I was in the acceptance! I was quite happy and I’m sure the operator on the phone could tell (As she seemed pretty happy for me too.) So I paid the deposit right away….. That takes one worry off my back.
