Are you a youth in Calgary interested in the NDP? Monthly social event

Posted by Tyler Kinch on 31st December 2006

Just letting everyone know about this event next week:

January 6
6:30 PM
Higher Ground Coffee in Kensington
1126 Kensington Road

Another get together similar to the one in December. We can have political and casual discussions, and just get to know each other. If you are are youth (14-25) and are interested in the NDP, this is a great way to meet other youth in Calgary with similiar beliefs and ideas. We will also be finalizing our plans for an upcoming event at Mount Royal College. Also some members from Edmonton will be in Calgary joining us.

Hope to see new and familiar faces at this social. Bring a friend or two if you can.

Canada Climate Change Day

Posted by Tyler Kinch on 14th May 2006

This is a call to anyone who cares about the environment, and is frightened by what the Conservative government (or any government) will do to it.

ccd.pngThe current government is cutting useful programs such as energuide. They are saying that they are implementing a “Made in Canada” solution, while getting rid of made in Canada ideas. They are spreading uneducated opinions, as though they were fact, that we can not reach our Kyoto targets. Other countries right now are reaching their targets, without taking every car and truck off the road, so what makes us different?

On August 26 2006, voices across Canada will be heard. These voices will be calling for the government to act, and act fast. We do not have much time left; we must act before it is too late. August, 26, 2006 is Canada Climate Change Day.

Please visit the website, and join by emailing renfunk@gmail.com to get updates on this event. Hopefully we can get communities from all over Canada involved, because I know that Canadians care about the environment.
