Elected onto the student legislative council
Posted by Tyler Kinch on October 3rd, 2006
Today at SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology) was the day they counted the ballots for the student council. I got onto the council with highest vote from my department. Just thought I’d celebrate through my blog. I hope I can use this position to make life easier for students in Alberta.

Congratulations!! Did you have a platform? Was there a ‘all candidates’ meeting, and if so, did you have to give a speech? (I am an election junkie). I love elections - any kind!

Thanks! I had a quick little blurb that they called a platform. Which was basicly working to make student life more affordable. This included two main things housing and tuition. It also included a handful of other things (such as food prices in the cafeterias) but I could not fit that into the 50 word space they gave me. Unfortunatley there were no public meetings with all the candidates, however I did do person to person campaigning.
I think during the executive election there is a lot more action.
Once again, thanks for the congratualations
