Rona Ambrose being sued… again! Resign now!
Posted by Tyler Kinch on September 21st, 2006
Well I’ve been following this spotted owl story (link) and another story where Rona Ambrose is being sued (link).
Well it looks like she is being sued again, this time regarding the spotted owl extinction. As I had mentioned before, Rona Ambrose (Minister of the environment) has refused to enact an emergency order un the federal Species at Risk Act. There are only 17 of these owls left in Canada, yet the minister sees “no imminent threat to the survival or recovery of the northern spotted owl at this timeâ€.
This is a shame!
Ambrose, resign now - you are an embarrassment!

“There are only 17 of these owls left in Canada,”
Who fucking cares!
I let you in on a little secret. Extinction is a very important component of evolution.
For every creature that goes extinct there is always another creature that will fill the void that the extinct creature left behind.
Evolution would not work otherwise.
Get a fucking life!

You are very uninformed.
Yes extinction is a natural. But the extinction of the spotted owl in Canada is not natural. It was caused by human interference with the environment.
Ambrose’s job is to protect these endangered species and the environment. She is not completing her job, therefore she should resign.
And when you swear, you sound a lot less intelligent.

You are the one that is unimformed.
Human are just another animal on this planet. Our DNA is proof of that
At this time we are the most successful species on earth.
We have cause the extinction of thousands of other species as we moved up the food chain. Again this is what happens when successful species move into a prominent role in the food chain. All successful species from crocodiles to elephants have caused the extinction of lesser species. This is how evolution works my friend.
Without extinction there is no evolution!
Extinction is a normal, natural process of life on Earth. Since we are just another animals born of this planet we are doing nothing wrong.
Extinction WILL visit humans just like it has every other animal of the past that does not exist today. The one good thing about human extinction is there won’t be any more fucking idiots like you complaining about a normal natural process like extinction.
As for Rona Ambrose, she is doing her job by ignoring crackpots like you who are asking for her resignation because she can’t do something about a normal, natural process of this planet like extinction.
The Tories have been in power for less then a year and you blame every problem in the environment on her. Idiot!
One last thing, I like fucking swearing.

I’ll add the “Extinction of an animal is a natural process, even when humans are directly contributing to the extinction in an unnatural way” statement with the conservative belief, “Global warming is natural and humans have nothing to do with it.” to the naive beliefs on the environment that conservatives have.
The Conservatives can’t even come up with an environmental plan, they don’t care. They’ll wish they did when they are out of government in the next election.

Human are just another animal on this planet!
Why do you ecofuckheads and the religious nuts keep separating humans from the rest of the millions of species on this planet. 60% of our DNA is shared with every other creature on earth. Over 90% of our DNA is shared with primates. We evolve on this planet like any other species. To separate humans from other life forms of this planet is to deny your own heritage.
Since we evolved on this world, no matter what we do, it is just another natural process of life on this planet.
We are nature! Again, we are just part of another natural process of extinction on this planet! A species that goes extinct because of us or by some planetary disaster like the meteorite that killed off the dinosaurs 65 million years ago is still extinct.
You should drop you eco-religious views that separate humans from the rest of the natural world and study a little science so you will quit making a fool of yourself.
Why do you hate your own specie so much?

Wow. Deno failed grade nine science.
September 24th, 2006 at 12:02 am
Was that the grade when you learned that humans are some kind of unnatural species on this planet?
Exactly what is it about us that is unnatural?
Can you show me with your grade 9 science when and where human no longer belong to the natural world?
Did we just wake up unnatural one day and have been unnatural ever since?
Can your grade 9 science tell why this happened?
I can see why you call yourself Thickslab , you are pretty dense.
To bad there isn’t anyone who reads this blog that can counter my statements. All I got is Keith and Thickslab with his grade 9 science education where he learned that humans are “unnaturalâ€.

Your argument is flawed.
Under your argument, measures being brought forward to stop the extinction of the spotted owl would be considered natural too. Having this conversation/debate with you on whether or not we should protect the spotted owl is natural too.
It’s easy to see why your argument is flawed now. You are putting us in the same category of the rest of animals. Sure we do have a good percentage of our DNA that is similar to the rest of animals, but that small percentage that makes us different from the rest of the animals is what really makes a difference in our abilities.
One of the things that separate us from the rest of animals is our intelligence. We have minds that we can use on a whole different level then other animals. We can think and comprehend why things happen and come up with solutions to solve complex problems.
So the people who will go extinct under the “survival of the fittest†will be the people who don’t use their minds. People who just say “the owls will go extinct; it’s a part of nature.†We are humans; we are capable of stopping the extinction! And even if you don’t think we should be stopping a natural process then we should choose not to, naturally
, contribute to it by destroying the habitat of the owl, when it doesn’t need to be destroyed for our survival.
As humans, we are given the gift of intelligence. I choose to use it.
You are simplifying everything, by saying that we are just like any other animal. What we do as humans to nature has greater consequences then what any other animal could ever do. Maybe you want to put yourself in the same category as the rest of the animals. Which you can do, and seeing from your posts, I don’t think anyone else would argue that. But the rest of us choose to use our intelligence to solve problems.

Deno:
Yes we are an animal. But unlike the vast majority of them we use technology. Hence our impact on them and our environment speeds up unnatural extincitons of populations. Unlike say hurricanes etc. which also then recreate the environment. Ours is a rapacious use of the environment as a commodity for the production of profit. Given that the forest area that the owls live in would not have been endagered by nature. The destruction of their habitat is the fault of human development. The key to evolution is not extinctions but adaptation. Key to it is mutual aid amongst species. Something you are overlooking. Of course I realize from the above diatribe you are not listening.

I’m a listened surprised you argued this much with Deno already. He’s an obvious troll, or else so infuriatingly uneducated that to make him understand would take more time than the entire blogsphere of Earth could provide. As for your post, Tyler, it’s good and I agree.

The Tories are nothing but a bunch of Rednecks…. I think they should be locked up and the keys thrown away. Down with the Conservative Government!
