Jack Layton Says “NDP” “Form Government” and “Canada” In The Same Sentence

Posted by Tyler Kinch on July 6th, 2006

I just got back from a NDP pot luck that was put on by John Chan (Previous and possibly future Calgary North Candidate) and the NDP Calgary North Riding Association. Jack Layton was there as the guest, and he did a usual speech.

But this speech was a little bit different. I heard Jack LaytoJack Layton In Calgaryn telling everyone that the NDP will be a viable choice in the next federal election for forming the government. It’s about time! No matter what our chances are, we should always be running our campaigns with the goal of achieving as much power as possible. Nobody wants to back a losing candidate, and voters can see when a candidate does not think he/she can win. The NDP has to continue with this attitude. And with the growth we have had in the last two elections, I’m hoping it will spark some hope in all the great volunteers the NDP does have.

So remember in the next election, fellow NDP’ers, we can form a government. It’s not impossible.

It really depends on the riding… there are plenty of ridings where voting Liberal will help to elect a Conservative candidate.

But that aside, I’d much rather vote for something instead of against something.
